1. Who we are

Meso is operated by Conor Dalgarno, trading as Dustlight (“Dustlight”, “we” or “us”). Contact us at hello@playmeso.com about the game, your account or these terms.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.

2. Free play and accounts

Daily expeditions, Practice and the Field Journal are free. You can play as a guest; an optional free Dustlight account adds account saving and Friends features. Registering or signing in does not start a paid subscription.

Keep your sign-in details secure and provide accurate account information. Tell us if you suspect unauthorised use. Guest progress is held in your browser and may be lost if its data is cleared; account saving requires a working connection. The game’s backup tools provide another way to keep your journal.

3. Optional paid membership

The membership page lists the included benefits, prices and availability. The initial offer covers Meso’s Archive, custom game creation and ad-free play when advertising is introduced. Future games or benefits are included only if expressly added to the offer.

Membership is digital access through the Meso website on supported mobile and desktop browsers, linked to the Dustlight account used for the purchase. It requires internet access and JavaScript. Access is provided after payment is confirmed; contact us if it does not appear. It is not a physical product or a separate mobile app.

Friends can play valid shared custom-game links without buying membership. Custom-game results do not affect Field Journal discoveries or Daily comparisons.

4. Payment and renewal

Paddle is the authorised reseller and merchant of record for paid purchases. Paddle’s Buyer Terms govern the sale and payment; these terms govern your use of Meso.

Monthly plans renew monthly and yearly plans renew yearly until cancelled. There is no free trial. Review the currency, total including any tax, billing interval and renewal information shown at checkout before confirming payment. Payment methods are those offered by Paddle for your location.

We will explain any proposed subscription price increase before it applies and obtain consent where required. An increase will not retrospectively change a period already paid for.

5. Cancellation and refunds

You can stop renewal through Paddle’s subscription-management link in your confirmation email or Paddle’s payment support. Normal cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid billing period. See our Refund Policy for refund requests and applicable withdrawal rights.

Clearing your journal or deleting a game account is a separate action from cancelling a Paddle subscription. Cancel any active subscription before requesting account deletion, or contact us for help.

6. Using the game and its content

You may use Meso for personal play and share the game and its result links. Do not attack the service, attempt to access another player’s private information, impersonate another person, or upload unlawful or infringing material. You must have the right to use an uploaded profile picture.

Dustlight’s original game code, design and branding remain ours. Scientific references, photographs and illustrations remain subject to their credited owners’ licences. These terms do not replace those licences or give you ownership of third-party content.

We may restrict access where reasonably needed to address serious misuse or a security incident. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and let you contact us about it. This does not remove any consumer remedy you are entitled to.

7. Changes and availability

Meso will continue to develop. Maintenance and technical faults may sometimes interrupt access. We will take reasonable care in providing the service and investigating reported problems.

Material changes to these terms or paid benefits will be explained in advance, with cancellation options and remedies where required by law. No promise is made here that unannounced future games or features will be delivered.

8. Support and your rights

For game or membership-access problems, email hello@playmeso.com. For charges, cancellation or refunds, you can also contact Paddle directly using your purchase reference.

Nothing in these terms removes your mandatory consumer rights or excludes responsibility where the law does not allow it. Rights relating to faulty, misdescribed or undelivered digital services remain available. Mandatory protections in the country where you live continue to apply.
