About this working tree
This page uses the same classification data as Meso’s games. Expert covers every current genus; Explorer shows its smaller catalogue within the same tree. Some genera are legal guesses but held out as hidden answers; their status is shown when selected. Retired and excluded names remain in Names & classifications.
The Paleobiology Database is our starting point. Published research supplies additional groups and documented working choices. Where sources disagree, this is the framework used by the game, rather than a claim that alternative relationships have been disproved. A broad placement leaves finer relationships unresolved. Branch lengths and the alphabetical order of neighbours have no scientific meaning.
